A wedding band is one of the most important aspects of a wedding. Wedding bands have been used for centuries to symbolize a link of love between two people. Egypt was were a wedding band was first used. The Romans quickly adopted this tradition. If a Roman girl accepted a ring from a man she was committed to him for life. Wedding bands used to be made of iron, but today are made of silver, gold, and platinum.
The reason the wedding band is placed on our left hand and third finger is due to the beliefs from the ancient Egyptians and Romans. They believed that there was a vein the existed in this finger that ran straight to the heart. This continued into medieval times, but for a diverse reason. The groom during the wedding placed the ring on the brides left fingers, turn it and say “ in the name of the father, son, and Holy Ghost.”
Until the past century, the wedding band was only worn by the bride. Today, many men have adapted to also wearing a wedding band to show their love and commitment.
Deciding on a wedding band can be a bit daunting. There are so many different styles to choose from that many brides and grooms put off finding a wedding band until the last moment. This isn’t one of the smartest moves to make. It is better to go and take the time to look at bands so they are ready for the big day.

These pieces should complete to your finished look. Make sure that you choose jewelry that matches and will compliment your dress. Do not wear a white dress and add a pink purse as an accessory, that is just bride suicide. Once again, make sure the wedding jewelry doesn’t overpower you or that expensive gown you bought.
